Mel's Soil Recipe for Square Foot Gardening

1/3 humus (blended compost made from a mixture of chicken/cow manure; mushroom compost; worm castings and wood blend). This is the only aspect of the soil that will need replacing/topping up whenever you replant)

1/3 peat moss (non-renewable resource which will not break down. Used for water retention and aeration)

1/3 coarse vermiculite (keeps soil light weight)
